Vocalists Rejoice! - A whole host of FREE Workshops with Vocal Mastery
We may have already told you once or twice but we'll remind you again......Shure are currently running a European Wide Vocal Mastery Competition!
To date, we have had over 200 entries and there is still over 6 weeks left. If you think you've got what it takes then don't be shy - Enter Here
Anyway, we digress - the reason for today's post was to remind you of all the amazing content that has been created to work in conjunction with Vocal Mastery. At the time of writing there are 11 FREE workshops on offer from the experts at the Academy of Contemporary Music. Here's a very quick overview of what is available (and there is more to come!):
Tutorial 1
Warm-Up: A few pointers for preparing that are often overlooked.
Tutorial 2
Physical Warm-Up: This time it is not just about the voice, it is about the body.
Tutorial 3
Vocal Health: Never forget the importance of your voice - you'll only ever have one voice!
Tutorial 4
How to add personality to your voice: 'Inflections', 'cries' and 'spoken fall-offs' - if these words don't mean anything to you, you could quickly learn something in this excellent video.
Tutorial 5
How to keep connected to your core while singing: Pull in and pull up! (this will make sense once you've watched the video).
Tutorial 6
Connecting with Lyrics: Become like a storyteller and show emotion in your performance.
Tutorial 7
Gain Control: Learn how to control both the fluency of the voice and the intonation.
Tutorial 8
Getting the Rock Sound: Some extremely handy tips here for rock performance including the fact that vowel sounds need to be flattened out.
Tutorial 9
Vibrato: This is often a contentious topic. Whatever side of the fence you sit on in this regard, check out the video to hear these tongue twisters in action! - 'diaphragmatic vibrato' & 'laryngeal vibrato.'
Tutorial 10
Performance: If you are a bit nervous on stage, remember this - The crowd wants to see you succeed.
Tutorial 11
Warm Down: Make sure you don't forget to warm down - and you might well need a straw to do so!
We hope that you find these short tutorials useful to improve the way you rehearse, perform and prepare.
Maybe the above workshops will fill you with the confidence you need to enter our competition?
