Shure Montreux Jazz Voice Competition 2015 - The Winner
Congratulations to Alina Engibaryan, who has been elected as the winner of the Shure Montreux Jazz Voice Competition 2015.
Young harpist, singer and composer Laura Perrudin took an unusual and exceptional path to music. With jazz as her childhood soundtrack, she studied classical music while developing an interest in a wide array of genres including electronic and traditional music, soul and hip-hop. She trained with many musicians - from her birth region of Brittany to New York and Paris. Her quest to bring the harp to a richer and wider harmonic language paid off with harp maker Philippe Volant who crafted for her a celtic harp that is fully chromatic. It is with this new instrument that she gives life to the meandering harmonies of her original creations.
